ISTRIA REGION (CROATIA)
The Istria Region is a local authority of the Republic of Croatia that benefits of the work of 169 experts who deal with long life learning, promotion of multiculturalism and implementation of international projects. The Region has a strong expertise about minorities as its Statute recognises and promotes the bilingualism of Italian and Croatian language and the frequent relations between the Region and the different historical and new minorities provide the added value
The Istria Region is the lead and promoter of the project SIMPLE and it deals with the financial and administrative management of the project. Moreover, the Istria Region is responsible for the creation of a Multilingual Support Agency aimed at improving the access of minorities to public services.
ABRUZZO REGION (ITALY)
In Italy regions have political and administrative autonomy in several areas, and because of this reason Abruzzo Region has had several experiences in the fields of civic services, youth policies, immigration, social cooperation. Within SIMPLE, the Region deals with the actions for the prevention of discrimination and violence towards minority women. Thanks to the strong experience of the Region’s Equal Opportunities Department in the planning of social services for vulnerable people, the Region will also set up a Non discrimination and Minority Women Protection Agency.
MINISTRY FOR HUMAN AND MINORITY RIGHTS OF MONTENEGRO (MONTENEGRO)
The Ministry for Human and Minority Rights of Montenegro is a government-based department in charge of the monitoring, research and protection of minority rights. It deals with support initiatives for minority people, ensures that their rights are respected and their interests represented.
Within the project SIMPLE, the Ministry provides the guidelines for the creation of support services for intercultural education, the governance model will be tested through the work of an Intercultural Education Support Agency for schools and minorities, which will provide information, guidance and intermediation to improve the integration in schools of students belonging to minorities.
DURRES MUNICIPALITY (ALBANIA)
Durres is the second largest city of Albania and an important political and economic centre. The municipality will contribute to SIMPLE with important initiatives related to the recognition of the current state and conditions of Albania’s various minorities, setting up a Multiethnic Agency for the Economic Development. The actions will broad the range the activity of the Municipality while at the same time positively contribute to local development, dealing with social, economical and labour-related issues. Indeed, the Agency will specifically provide support to employment services for individuals belonging to minority communities.
PROGETTI SOCIALI (ITALY)
Progetti Socialiis a social enterprise based in Pescara (Italy), which is strongly oriented towards the principles of equality, sustainable development, integration, subsidiarity, interdisciplinarity, cultural and knowledge sharing for the realization of the common good.
According to the contemporary dynamic trends, Progetti Sociali has a creative approach, offering services for the social planning, information, technical assistance and support for all the actors working for social improvement, while at the same time is the direct protagonist of innovation processes, through projects with local, regional, national and international partners.
Progetti Sociali coordinates SIMPLE’s communications strategy and promotes networking opportunities with regional and local actors, supports the organisation of the seminar on women’s protection in Abruzzo as well as the project’s partnership.
ITALIAN UNION OF KOPER (SLOVENIA)
The Italian Union of Koper is the organization that works for the protection and enhancement of the cultural and linguistic identity of the Italian Community. Its initiatives aim to maintain and promote relationships with the Italian National Community in Croatia and Italy. The Union has a European Office that is involved in various cross-border projects involving minorities, which is actively supported by local media such as television Koper and Radio EDIT. Given its extensive experience working on information about minorities, within the project SIMPLE the Italian Union of Koper will set up a Multicultural Media and Information Agency and coordinate the national antennas that will be activated in the other countries of the partnership.
ITALIAN UNION OF FIUME (CROATIA)
The Italian Union of Fiume represents the needs and the ethnic and linguistic identity of the Italian National Community. The Italian Union of Fiume liaise with schools and communities in order to organise cultural events and training session for teachers and journalists. Given its large experience promoting multilingualism, the Italian Union of Fiume will set up a branch office of the Multilingual Support Agency to improve the access of minorities to public services, which is one of SIMPLE’s pilot actions. This branch will provide contribute to the creation and translation of learning materials as well as support schools and other institutions disseminating multilingual information packages.
COOPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE - CDI (ALBANIA)
The Cooperation and Development Institute is a non-profit organization based in Tirana focused on socio-economical issues affecting Albanian transition towards a market economy in a democratic society. The Institute's work included sector-specific policy analysis, strategic research for business actors, project design and implementation. CDI has also a department focused on human resources that provides services in secretariat and network management, as well as training and capacity building.
According to its experience, the Cooperation and Development Institute contributes to SIMPLE preparing and promoting the statute of the Multiethnic Agency for the Economic Development and provide recommendations to Adriatic companies and employers’ representative to assume pluralism and diversity as key elements for business innovation.
INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL SOCIOLOGY OF GORIZIA (ITALY)
ISIG is an independent research centre that combines a rigorous scientific approach and the commitment to international cooperation for development. Therefore, ISIG is thus rooted in the regional context but is also dynamically turned towards the international context, within which it operates and is recognised as a centre of excellence in the fields of international relations and cross-border cooperation studies, of ethnic relations and minorities studies, of peace studies and conflict resolution, of society and social policy, of economics and local development, of democracy and civil society, of futures and forecasting techniques, of territorial and environmental risk management.
Within SIMPLE ISIG coordinates the activities of the Transnational Research, which aims to map the conditions of minorities in the Adriatic area.
