The European Commission published the list of transnational projects that will be founded under the Daphne III Programme 2011-2012, for the prevention and contrast of violence against children, young people, women and to protect victims and groups at risk.
Progetti Sociali is a partner of one of the projects approved: Speak up, presented by the Foundation Cireneo Onlus for autism that along with six other partners will carry out the activities between the beginning of 2013 and the end of 2014.
Speak up aims to tackle violence against children with autism focusing on contexts ranging from schools and institutions to families and communities. The objectives will be pursued in different ways in order to consider a comprehensive set of the needs and risks. In addition to developing studies on the phenomenon at European level, Speak up will provide operational tools for the protection of children victims of abuses and children unintentionally perpetrators of violence. The activities will also include the development of intervention protocols and pilot actions to prevent the risk of abuse of autistic children.
For this important project, the non-profit Foundation Cireneo and Progetti Sociali will work with organizations deeply involved in the protection of children with autism and their families, creating a consortium that includes Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Belgium and Poland.
