With the Decision C (2010) 2563 of the 23^rdof April 2010, the European Commission approved the 2010 Annual Programme for the European Refugees Fund (ERF), established by the European Union Decision 573/2007/EC as part of the General Programme "Solidarity and management of migratory flows".

As regards Italy, the management of the Fund is under the responsibility of the Ministry of Interior - Department for Civil Liberties and Immigration, Central Directorate for Civil Service Immigration and Asylum.

In line with the 2008-2013 Program, the actions of the 2010 Annual Programme are addressed to improve the interventions in favur of vulnerable groups of applicants/holders international protection (people needing specialistic health care and home care also prolonged, disabled people also with temporary disability, victims of torture, rapes or other serious forms of psychological, physical or sexual violence, unaccompanied minors, pregnant women, single parents with children and the elderly).
